Chief Brian Rodgers

Chief Brian Rodgers has been involved in emergency services since he was 16 years old.  He has served as an EMT, police officer, and volunteer fireman over the past 20 years.  He was hired as Chief of the Byhalia Volunteer Fire Department in May of 2018 and currently serves as a part-time police officer with the Byhalia Police Department.  Brian’s certifications include:

  1. Registered EMT, National Registry of EMTs

  2. Certified Volunteer Fire Fighter, State Fire Academy, MS

  3. Certified Rural Fire Officer, State Fire Academy, MS

  4. Certified SCBA / Rescue, State Fire Academy, MS

  5. Certified Fireground Support Operations, State Fire Academy, MS

safety Policy statement

The BVFD is committed to providing and operating with the highest possible levels of safety and health for all volunteers of the department. The prevention and reduction of accidents, injuries, and occupational illnesses are strategic goals of the BFVD and shall be the primary consideration at all times when called to duty. This concern for safety and health applies to all members of the department and to any other person or persons that may be involved in any fire department activity.
